1999-Up Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra & other related S.U.V.'s Door Hinge Pin and Bushing Repair Kit.

Replacement:

  1. Install the bushings into the two hinge holes. Both holes are the same diameter.
  2. Install the longer of the two pins into the top hinge hole and through the "U" bracket.
  3. Thread on the locknut so that the threads are started but do not tighten.
  4. Install the shorter of the two pins through the "U" bracket and into the bottom hinge hole.
  5. Install the supplied washer over the threaded portion of the bottom pin.
  6. Thread on a 5/16"-18 nylon insert locknut so that the threads are started but do not tighten.
  7. Using hand tools only, hold the pin steady with a 9/16" wrench, slowly tighten both upper and lower locknuts. WARNING!! Do not turn the pin when tightening the locknut. Doing so may strip the knurls.
  8. Replace the door to the body. (Refer to an appropriate service manual.)
  9. Lubricate the new door pins with an approved lubricant.
